lakker were commissioned by the re:vive initiative to create a new conceptual work solely sampling field recording, tv and radio broadcasts from the dutch national av archive, the netherlands institute for sound and vision. the curated material provided all related to and was representative of the theme the dutch and water.
the resulting 8 track release struggle and emerge is a tense soundtrack to the machine driven mid-20th century that captures the complex relationship between the dutch and the water that surrounds them- unyielding, colossal, industrial.

morahs first release came from helena hauffs return to disorder label and this time the athenian producer takes the same techno and electro sound and goes completely berserk for berceuse heroique. morah creates some huge waves of feedback on anarchy, which sounds like a techno version of metal machine music, then he takes the old school viewlexx sound and makes it even more confrontational, on you said no and impasse. looking back is a beautiful, melancholic - but still very dysfunctional - version of the death of a rave. one of the strongest points of this new producer is that his music sounds like the city of athens right now: raw energy mixed with manic depression and pessimism.

scienceofuse is a new electronic music label from ljubljana, slovenia. its purpose is to transmit futuristic frequencies by using the science of creation to transcend percieved limitations. connecting the advances in our culture and technology with the important lessons of visionaries that came before us. the label s first release, -responsible design- by veteran dj and expert knob-twiddler known as electronic badminton king (e.b.king for short) is an acid-tinged affair with a darkish early noughties electro vibe on the a-side, while the flip delivers an abrasive technoid banger coupled with a deeper floating acid cut.

in 2006, tim arndt released the first near the parenthesis album go out and see. arndt had intended to follow up that release with a more beatless ambient album, where percussion was left to the side and composition took center stage. a shelved idea that we now get the benefit of a full ten years later. this new album helical is the realization of arndt s stripped down ambient concept. helical features arndts characteristic experimental modem classical instrumentation and compositional style, but slows things down and stretches them out. the focus on the organic is clear, but moments of ethereal breath weave in and out and prevent the album from becoming too self aware. helical, as a loose reference to the geometric structure of our very dna and it contains themes that are driven by a recent discovery of arndts past and ancestry. the release seamlessly stitches all of these concepts together and marks an unique release and new direction for arndts near the parenthesis.

the three tracks travel in many different directions. speaking directly to all the dreamers, the result is a surprising cross-over in which synthesized european music gets injected by imaginary tropical visions. the record is opening with the inner mind percussive ambient « chekema », an animistic incantation that will please all those who see parties as modern ritual gatherings. the jazzy wave of « get enough » cracks open the b-side. its a foggy street jam in which the cold cr-68 rhythm balances perfectly with the warm organ chords of the crumar. closing things off is the spectral reggae song love so high, a desperate cry from a polar explorer stranded on an iceberg drifting towards the carribean. heartbreaking.

lizards are lee forster (1/3 last waltz) and james hadfield (the mainstay of the elizabeth collective). taking over a full side, and clocking in at over 9 minutes, anthemic understatement is a very difficult trick to pull of, but the deepness of feel here, coupled with the restraint shown in rhythm and melody, allows the track space to ebb, flow and truly get under the skin of the listener. it s one of those rare tracks that are as equally beautiful as they are danceable international track lives up to it s name, seeing the north eastern english producers channel the japanese take on the balearic sound as heard in productions by artists such as cosmes.

pete herbert drops the second release on paradise row - the imprint he and dicky trisco set up to release their own output. mango moon is a very herbertesque number pumped full of musical influences from house to italo to disco, but with an eagle eye at all times on driving the dance floor really wild. pedro demonstrates his years of experience as both a producer and a dj in a track that captures so much of the territory he has covered in both guises over the years. with its pumping live disco underbelly, its melodic italo-style keys riding on top and its rock solid drums, it really is a very classy production by a dj/ producer who knows where he wants to go and how to get us all there at the same time. meanwhile on the flip, his label and dj compadre dicky trisco flips the track in a live disco direction with an epic take of his own that throws more than a few surprises into the mix. dicky teases the dancefloor with a long build up but just wait until those wicked keys by faze action s robin lee drop in! quality stuff, & more great dance floor tackle courtesy of paradise row.

it all began with a demo from siberia in 2011...the rest is history.. with his fulminant debut ep -untitled dubs-, rawax became over night an incredible focus in the techno scene worldwide. unbroken dub aka denis safiullin was let s say the co-founder of it and still a very close friend of the label. no wonder that we re happy to present you denis 7th release and follow up to the first one called -untitled dubs 2-!
two of figures core artists combine their production forces on this release, presenting a fully fledged ep of their joint studio efforts. spanish azid-wizard regal teams up with len faki himself for some tracks that are as lively and versatile as they are effective and cut for the club.

kevin arnemann and daan kemps taped artifact label clocks up its fourth release with a three track offering from outlaw rec boss and key part of the italian serendipity club, namely matthew oh. matthew has previously released on his own label and others like side off, and eloquently marries dub, techno and house into smooth and sensuous sonic landscapes. the opening track psycho hub is an atmospheric and spacious roller with dubbed out drums and pads, coupled with incendiary hi hats urging you along. shroud is seven minutes of slick and spaced out deep techno with liquid synths and clacking hits all racing along and making for a frictionless groove that sucks you right in. finally, get in the fridge slows the tempo down and becomes an even more widescreen and roomy roller with suspensory pads, smeared synths and aqueous sonic details that make you feel like you are floating in sound.
